How long it takes to get divorced depends primarily on whether you and your spouse can agree on the issues. If you can agree on a comprehensive separation agreement and file together for an uncontested divorce, you should have your final hearing and judgment of divorce within 30 – 60 days. If, instead you are not able to agree on how to resolve the issues with your spouse, a contested divorce can take anywhere from 6 months to several years to complete.
If you want your divorce to move forward quickly, I can help you negotiate a fair agreement on the issues. If your spouse is being unreasonable and is not willing to negotiate in good faith, I will help you progress through the contested track by quickly meeting targeted discovery in order to obtain an expedited trial.
